Suggest a default theme/style

The default style on www.livejournal.com isn't bad, but it doesn't seem all that great either. The columns are a little wide for easy readability, and entries without subject lines tend to run into the preceding entries.

All the users on my server are new, so I can inflict whatever default styles and themes on them I feel like. (Using a simple configuration option which does not yet exist, but will within 10 minutes of my deciding to create it. I love open source.)

Basically I'm looking for a conservative, newbie-friendly, and highly readable sort of appearance.
