I'm trying to install LJ on a Debian(Sarge)system.
I understand that there are needs for certain perl modules to be installed before LJ will work. However, using Sarge's built in package maintainer, aptitude, it has come to my attention that a few modules require a specific version of perlapi. I won't mind installing perlapi to a specific version, however, perlapi conflicts with my current installation of perl which is needed by many core applications on the system.
My question is, how do I install the perl modules without any conflict with perl while statisfying its dependencies? Is it safe to ignore the conflict and install perl and perlapi together?
