FB Intergration

I'm looking at intergrating an FB installation into my LJ installation. I have gone through and defined my $FB_SITEROOT, as well as assigned appropriate caps (fb_account and fb_can_upload). I am still at a loss as to what actually "connects" the two installations? Is there a hook I am missing, or something else?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, as I am working with another developer on this, and it is keeping us from moving foward with this project.
