Rename tokens?

I was looking up how to do the whole journal rename thing and in an old post it referred to two files which are now in the ljcom folder in the repository so those files are no longer usable on a production environment, correct?

If so, has anyone successfully made another script that will do the renaming and have you made it open source?

I had a couple of other questions but I have forgotten them. :\
