E-Mail Variable in Styles

I am creating a journal site for a county-wide school deployment. Thus, I need the system to be as easy and as automatic as possible. I need a link to e-mail the user to appear ON the journal page. I am removing access to userinfo pages, style customization, etc. I realize that there are variables such as %%name%% and I have taken advantage of them. However, I need to have a variable like %%email%% that I can include in a mailto link, like this:

[a href="mailto:%%email%%"]E-mail Me![/a]

(I couldnt use "<" or ">" :( auto html formatting)

Does that make sense? I am simply using %%email%% as an example. Also, if a variable such as that does not exist, how would I go about creating one.
